The Engagement Story! From October 24th

On Sunday October 19th, Philip asked me to be his wife! It was the most perfect of evenings. We started out with a romantic dinner at the Italian restaurant Villa Nova, right on the Newport Harbor. We enjoyed each others company (and the amazing desserts there!) and had a fantastic time.
When dinner was completed, Phil had yet another surprise for me! We walked out on to the dock at the Villa Nova where Phil had set up for a Gondola to pick us up! The Gondola was Italian perfection - sparkling cider, bread, Italian music - even the Gondolier was dressed the part! We set off on a beautiful tour of the Newport Harbor. The night couldn't have been more calm on the water. We even had a chance to feed some lucky ducks swimming next to the Gondola!
Halfway through the ride, the Gondolier interrupted our conversation to point out a bottle in the water. He mentioned that there was a special message in the bottle, and that I should pick it up out of the water. I reached over the side of the boat. Phil then removed the letter and handed to me to read. The letter was filled with encouraging words and eloquent affirmations of his love for me. Then at the end of the letter were the words I had been waiting my entire life to hear (and read!) - "Tiffany Michelle Bowers will you marry me?"
I was in complete amazement and was so surprised! I said "yes yes yes yes yes" and hugged his neck for a few minutes as tears of joy streamed down my face. He then took my left hand and put on my finger the most beautiful ring I have ever seen in my life. When we returned to the dock, much to my surprise again, was a handful of close friends waiting at the Villa Nova lounge in order to congratulate us!

I then found out that Andre Niesing, one of our close friends, had taken photos of the whole thing! He acted like Jack Bauer meets James Bond in order to get some amazing shots. We are incredibly thankful to have such amazing pictures to document one of the most important nights of our lives.
